Independent Project:

            I thought of a great idea that would mean changing my first idea for the project but not by much. I’ve done many things with flash this year and for my AMV I was planning to do that again, but then something hit me. I could do a more traditional animation but instead of drawing them and taking boring pictures of a dull drawing, I could draw AND COLOR it in Photoshop, save the image, change it, and save it again as a different image like #2 then 3 etcetera.  Then I would have all these pictures and put them into another software to play them through. I could make several different scenes and drawings that fade into one another, depending on how much time I will have by finishing up time, I might just add pictures with several different filters that it fades between.

I worked on a background and got one picture done that I used to animate with traditional animation stuff, getting 12 seconds or so of footage for next scene.

I put several of the animated pictures together already so I have about a minute and a half of scenes and pictures for a three and a half minute song, but I might not use all of the song if I run out of time.

I continued working on another picture, which I was going to use filters on.

Today I am working on another drawing. I don’t think I will be animating this one either because of the lack of time coming in and each drawing takes so long because I want it to look as good as I can make it.  I have done enough animating in my opinion for the song anyway and I have some scenes repeat for like the chorus. Today I will now color my drawing.

 Today is the last day; I’ve uploaded it to vimeo and then Ning., working on my Independent project progress paper.  I also worked on checking out the principles and TEKS things it follows: facial construction, postproduction and staging in some scenes.

 

It took a really long time to put this together, and a lot of work outside class in putting this together.  I took at least an hour to draw and color each picture, plus I had to animate as many scenes as I could in the time limit, and organize it all together, it was just a lot of work and I was a little nervous about not being able to finish, but I feel better now that I’m done and I think it looks good.
